VIRAGO is a writing workshop where women, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming writers of all abilities and experience levels can generate new work, connect with other creatives, and receive valuable feedback on their work from a group of invested peers.

I believe the key ingredient necessary to ensure that all attending writers of varying experience level and genre receive thoughtful, informed feedback is by using an agreed-upon structure for how we read and respond to one another’s work.

The goal of VIRAGO is to explore deeply, to emphasize inquiry and discussion, and minimize “surgery” or “prescription.” 

VIRAGO’s focus is to approach each writer's piece with credit, curiosity, care, context, and a critical eye.
